Expectations
This isn’t an easy button
Dog training takes patience and persistence.
We don't have traditional training certifications
This is our proven and repeatable training process as everyday pet parents.
Training can be expensive
On average, a 6-week in-person obedience course costs between $120-$600.
The Hapco is a great alternative or supplement to your current training program.
Please be advised
that courses on The Hapco are not intended to address severe behavioral issues, such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, or aggression. For assistance with these concerns, we recommend seeking guidance from a certified dog trainer.

Our Story
I first saw the benefits of animal-assisted interactions while deployed overseas as an Army helicopter pilot. This experience inspired me to get a puppy, Ellie, and start our Mission to Spread Smiles.
My wife, Katie, and I had dogs growing up, but there was a lot we didn’t know as new pet parents, so we took a deep dive into dog training. Within a year and a half, Ellie received her therapy dog certification, and we began volunteering in schools, hospitals, military bases, and nursing homes.
In 2020 we expanded our mission to social media and found a community of dog lovers who share our passion for spreading smiles.
When Emma, our new puppy, entered our lives, we quickly realized there was a need for accessible dog training. So we began creating tutorials to help others.
But there was still something missing, which is why we created The Hapco: a community of pet parents who want to unleash more adventures with their pups.
